SOCIAL ART AND MAKING:

Time elapses...young men become wise...old men reflect on young dreams...they're awakened, finding themselves to be of the dream.  Walking of life bears many types of fruit.  Some take hold of trying to find out what fruit they are harvesting, maybe the reason for an unyielding crop is...knowing no knowledge of the fruit, how can the fruit be harvested?  Others find grace in the surface of the fruit.  The rind and the peel.  This is why there is waste...only love of surface.  A problem or slight degradation of skin and/or peel one tends to throw the whole away.  Sometimes the darker the banana peel the sweeter the banana.  There are those who become shepherds of the fields, a farmer, a husbandman, a craftworker, an architect.  There is great difficulty in crafting the right & perfect fruit.  It is slow and needs patience, it needs steadiness, and surety.  The farmer must know the rightness of the fruit, it is a sublime action to understand this rightness, and when it is found a sublime science seems inexistent.

What is good or beautiful does not lie in the eye of the beholder, it lies in the maker and for that the maker must become good and beautiful, then the beauty is transferred to the viewer by the maker.  A work, a fruit, is beautiful only if  the maker instills his goodness in the work.  Goodness not as in a passing phrase like, "oh, good little Johnny."  But goodness as in the beauty of basic design.  The work becomes knowable if the intention of the maker gives the work his goodness, therefore the maker puts himself into the work.  Just as a virtue cannot be practiced, goodness is good at the moment it exist, and at no other way.

Social art is the abomination of all art that has been made or will be made.  Social art is popular art, art of the time, in this I mean a time of 3-6 years.  I refer to them as: social artists, they should be called: cons.  The thieves of good, the murderers of Beethoven's 5th.  The art of these thieves is what I call social art.  It is accepted by society, society calls it art, therefore we must hang it on a wall...yes I am being sarcastic.  Social art relies on the idea that upon the making of the art the artist injects the work with the darkness of emotional shock to appeal to every person that comes in contact with the work.  The artist assumes the nature of the viewer, and in that commits fornication with the virtuous soul, the only thing ever to contain virtue because it has no awareness of virtue.  It is, as is...pure.  Social artists sell their souls to men for popularity.  When the social artist rapes the soul, it does it without remorse because there is no goodness in the work and is not inherent to it because the maker sold his soul before the act of making was ever performed.  Social art corrupts the heroism of man because we, the viewer, are seen by the artist as equal.  Not in terms of civil rights, but in intelligible thought, intuition, and rationale.  We are seen as equal in stupidity as if we will all be shocked alike, and the artist is in great error because there is no equality in the arts, even if uncle Jim and aunt Betty Joe said it's that way.

Make with an idea.  Make with the idea of goodness, and in goodness will rise an incorruptible ideal.  Killing all of the social artists because they can't corrupt it.
